Hey, guys. I'm supposed to be on my one or two week break right now (not to say that I'm blaming anyone), but one day when I came across a Sonic Boom review vlog (outside my account), I felt like I had to say something. It's about the episode 'Robot Employees', and no, it didn't have anything to do with self-service machines.
This episode was a Dave and Sticks episode. It starts with Eggman getting a hamburger instead of a chilli dog (as they are cool and edgy. Pfft, since when?), so instead of ordering a robot attack on the restaurant (since Sonic stopped him, with WORDS), he goes to the Meh Burger Chief Executive Officer to come up with a plan for better customer service: robot employees (roll credits). It works like a charm, but Dave is not impressed and tries to convince his boss that it is a bad idea (Dave, you don't even like your job!), before rudely refusing to give Amy a sachet of ketchup. So the CEO agrees to give Dave a chance, but only if he wins a competition (this should be fun... I hope).
The first challenge is to flip burgers, which Dave does, like any ordinary fast food worker would do. But then, the robot quickly and accurately flips the uncooked burgers on their sides and tosses them into the air, cooking them to perfection when they land on the platter to form a pyramid of some sort. This should not have happened, considering the amount of time spent for the burgers to cook on the grill. It would have been funny if Dave's grill caught fire, causing him to scream in panic and run away.
The second challenge is to mop the floor, which Dave (leaving a small stain) tries to do and succeeds... until he spins the mop around and makes a mess. Believe it or not, that was the ONLY failed attempt that made sense. And the robot wins. The third challenge is to give the customers the right order, on a driveway? I thought the Unnamed -- excuse me -- HEDGEHOG Village didn't have cars. Oh well. Robot wins and Dave loses. Why? Because an adult from the Charlie Brown TV show was giving the order. How was anyone supposed to understand that? It would have made more sense, for Dave (being the mindless dolt he is) to lose the challenge, if the words were intelligible and easy to understand.
Dave gets fired, Meh Burger has better service thanks to the robots and everyone lived happily ever after... I wish. Eggman reveals that it was all part of his evil plan, encases the restaurant and its customers in a force-field and takes them into the sky, with rocket thrusters. Idiot. Tails tells Sticks about this and Sticks and Dave are off the save the day. Eggman is defeated and Dave gets a promotion, and one of the Serve-Bots hates Eggman now.
Did someone hire a 12 year old to write this? What am I saying? A 12 year old can write a better story than this. I have to say something about this episode. Everyone knows that Meh Burger has terrible service because of Dave's lazy, immature, irresponsible, inconsiderate, incompetent attitude so he ends up getting fired (thanks to Eggman showing him up with the idea of robots giving BETTER service to the customers). I liked that part of the story so much that I thought, "Hey, this could be a good thing. Better service equals happier customers. And Dave is out of the picture, and out of the restaurant FOR GOOD".
But then Eggman screwed up the idea by making his robots capture the restaurant and its customers. And Sticks and Dave save the day, Eggman is defeated and Dave gets a promotion. Which would mean that the world is better off with lazy idiots for employees! WHY? If the episode focussed on Tails using his expert -- yes, EXPERT -- mechanical skills to fix the robots while Team Sonic face Eggman, defeating him and still leaving Dave out of a job, everything would have been OK. But no, another opportunity wasted.
Here's an idea on how this could have worked: what if Eggman really wanted Meh Burger to be a success, but later on, something went horribly wrong? It will soon be revealed that Dave was the one behind this because he didn't like the idea of robots taking over his job (the job he didn't like). The robots behave badly and a force-field takes them to the sky (perhaps near outer space, suffocating the customers).
Tails puts his skills to use (causing the robots to give the customers oxygen masks, that's just me), while Eggman and Dave fight over the remote and (in their struggle) press some buttons that deactivate the force-field AND the thrusters. Just as all hope seemed to be lost, the reprogrammed robots go underneath the restaurant, to slow down its descent. Dave and Eggman are still fighting, and Team Sonic stops them. Eggman truthfully states that he only wanted what was best for the customers, and Dave gets arrested. The end.
I would like to know something. In this episode, only Dave's second failed attempt made sense. The first and third ones DID NOT. Was this episode trying to make us feel sorry for Dave? It's good that he tried to buckle up, but if you want to make him look useless, you've got to do better than that to make him look useless. Come on, episode. You've got to do better than that.
So, anyway. Did you guys like the original episode, or did you like my idea for the episode? Whichever one you prefer, it is up to you.
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to get that bad taste out of my mouth. Take care, everybody.

Sonic vs Tails (DND - alternate version)
Tails: If you'd just used scent candles like I said.
Sonic: They were scented. The package said 'fresh air'.
Tails: That's not a scent. Honestly, Sonic, you should've known that.
Sonic: Don't blame the candles! How do we know that the music and instrument of your choice didn't set them off?
Amy: Keep it down. The sooner we get this creature back in, the sooner the problem will be solved. [the widabit shoves Sonic, Tails and Amy down back and runs off]
Sonic: [getting up] Oh, are you happy now, Tails? We just lost our bachelor!
Tails: [angrily] How can I be happy? Until we get rid of that thing, I'm stuck with you trashing my place and w
Tails' 'Reason You Suck' speech(es)
Sonic: Hang on, buddy. Where's all this coming from?
Tails: I finally understand your attitude, Sonic. You're so cool and hip after all. [with an angry look] It's just too bad you had to act like you're better than the rest of society, especially with all that potential slipping away from you. All you ever do is eat, sleep, moan and go to the bathroom like a baby would do. Which you, sir, are NOT! And besides, it's OK to be a dimwit if you have amazing powers.
Knuckles: [happily] That's what I've been saying!
Tails: [to Knuckles] Can it, pea brain! Oh wait, you don't have a brain. At all. In fact, 'muscle' is the only word you know and don
Bee-come One summary and idea
I just watched a Sonic Boom episode today called 'You and I Bee-come One'. I initially thought that Tails and a Beebot would swap bodies before I watched the episode, but they didn't. To make things short and quick, here's the plot of the episode: while Eggman is on vacation (while Team Sonic deals with a swarm of beebots), Tails uses a fusion machine he invented on himself... just to be on the safe side (yeah, right) and accidentally ends up being fused with a Beebot.
He gradually turns against his friends and becomes the Beebot leader. This prompts Sonic to go and get Eggman for help to fix the problem. And they do this by destroying the B

I like your version better and agree with yea.
Dave is horrible at his job, the challenges shouldn't have happened in the first place, and pending on how long the CEO was there. It more surprising he didn't fire Dave on the spot. They could've had Tails invent something instead kicking Eggman out all together. But then again, being how the show is literally the last leg of Sonic Boom unless they are extremely lucky.
