Hey, guys. I've been thinking about the scene where Tails blames himself for the devastating events and Sonic agrees with him. While some people agree that Tails is at fault, others (like me, for instance) beg to differ. And so I thought of a Sonic Boom episode yesterday, which is mainly a Tails and Knuckles episode. Now, I have to warn you: some of you may find this upsetting.

The episode I conjured up goes like this: Sonic talks about Tails building Hypnobot, only for the robot to feel abandoned and betrayed, which was why he nearly succeeded in destroying the world's citizens. This turns everyone except Knuckles against Tails, only for the echidna to realise and admit that he was the one at fault because he mercilessly teased Tails until he (no thanks to Sonic and friends) stood up to him.

Amy reassures Knuckles that Tails is to blame for nearly getting everyone killed, but Knuckles doesn't believe her and wants to hear Tails' side of the story. Tails tells him that he couldn't bring himself to destroy what he created, which was the cause of Sonic's leg injury. But Knuckles is rather understanding of the situation, comparing this to him saving Vacu-2000. Tails realises that "maybe [he] has just been a bit too hard on [himself]". The episode then focuses on a news report on Tails' confession and everyone (except Knuckles) treats him like dirt.

Tails has had enough and wants it all to end. Knuckles is worried about Tails and tells this to Team Sonic, but then he scolds them (and villagers) for their unsympathetic attitude. Realising their mistake, Team Sonic head off to find Tails, only to discover that Tails is missing. Eventually, in the middle of a rainy thunderstorm, they find Tails in the jungle, shivering, drenched and hungry. Tails is reluctant to go back to the village because he is an outcast, but when Sonic and friends apologise for their actions, he returns to the village. The villagers are ashamed of themselves and (most of) Team Sonic for what Tails went through and the episode ends with Knuckles and Tails going to Tails' house, slamming the door in Team Sonic's faces.

Some of you may consider this to be a Tails torture episode, like when Sticks was berated in 'Unnamed Episode' because... ancestry, but here's the thing: this episode could show that Knuckles realises the damage he has done when he goaded Tails to enter the competition. Plus, he is the only one who knows and understands why Tails couldn't bring himself to destroy his own creation. This also could be an episode that focuses on Knuckles' good-natured personality, though this happens less often in the show, and it at least shows that he is not oblivious to the recent events or being a jerk to Tails at all.

And no, I don't like characters mercilessly being tortured for the sake of comedy. But considering that this is a... comedy show for children, the writers are willing to push the main characters to their breaking point for no good or real reason. In certain episodes, Sonic, Tails and Sticks are the ones I feel sorry for because they don't deserve this kind of treatment. But with Amy, I could only sympathise with her for a short period of time. An example of this is 'Gives Bees a Chance', where Amy cries over a missing beebot rather than going around looking for it. At one point, I did feel sorry for her but then it got me thinking, "Why didn't she feel this way when she thought Sonic was dead"?

What do I mean by this? Well, in 'Alone Again, Unnaturally', when Tails says that Sonic isn't gone, she replies, "Of course he isn't gone, he'll always be in our hearts". This is not the kind of thing you would say about someone who had just died, this is what you would be using in a eulogy at a funeral. I have to wonder if Amy said those things just to forget about him and move on. Some people consider this to be mature, but in my eyes, it's mean spirited. And for the scene itself, I get the feeling only Knuckles and Tails cared about Sonic at the time. One thing I would love to see is Amy doing something so terrible, so unspeakable, that people would rightfully call her out on what she did. The reason for this is because Amy didn't listen and unsuccessfully tried to prove that she was right.

But I doubt that would ever happen. Anyway, I made this episode up just to get the audience to think, "Hey, he made some mistakes". But I highly doubt that the show would ever make an episode like that because "when a character has mercilessly tortured, we should just laugh about it and move on from there". No! It doesn't work like that. It doesn't amuse the masses, it upsets them. I just hope that someone writes a Sonic Boom story about Tails reaching the breaking point and calling out everyone on their flaws. That would be fantastic. :)

I agree the show deserves a change to have an episode to redeem for such flaws. But Aren't you afraid, someone might find this offensive?  Not that I mean anything with that. But there are are people who put their wills strong to be more positive about SB.
